La Voyageuse provides a safe experience for solo female travellers
La Voyageuse is an online booking platform launched in The platform allows solo female travellers to book accommodation with all-female hosts in order to ensure a safe travel experience. During her own travels, Voyageuse founder Christina Boixière noticed that lack of safety was the main thing to stop women from traveling alone. To change this, she created La Voyageuse to help women feel safe while travelling.
La Voyageuse is subscription based. The annual subscription fee covers website maintenance, but also the strict and continual verification process that hosts must go through to ensure the safest travel experience. With the subscription fee, travellers can use the service as much as they want – they do not pay for the accommodation, they pay for the profile verification system as security is the key focus of the service.
