Llŷn Iveragh Ecomuseums
Llŷn Iveragh Ecomuseums (LIVE) is a partnership between Welsh and Irish community organisations, academic departments and local governments that especially aims to increase off-season and eco-friendly arrivals to tourism-dependent coastal communities.
An eco-museum is not a conventional museum. Rather, it’s a partnership that uses local nature and cultural heritage as the driving force of development for local communities. Relying on partners’ resources and expertise, LIVE uses the ecomuseum model of co-operative marketing to bring visitors to the region outside of peak tourist season. The partnership facilitates workshops and knowledge exchange sessions to build a cohort of active Ecomuseum ambassadors who are skilled in digital marketing and engaged with their local environments. The project is part-funded by the Ireland-Wales co-operation programme.
