Faribnb donates 50% of commissions to social community projects

Fairbnb provides a conscientious alternative to conventional accommodation and other home-sharing platforms. 50% of Fairbnb’s commissions are used to maintain the operation of the platform, while the remaining 50% is donated to a local community project chosen by the guest.

Despite donating to social projects, Fairbnb remains relatively price competitive by retaining a smaller amount of commissions than other home-sharing platforms. When booking through Fairbnb, guests can pick a local community project to donate through. Projects include initiatives of all sizes on gender equality, sustainable tourism and more.

During the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Fairbnb launched the initiative “Booking for Later” that intends to help the struggling local communities in Italy. When a traveller books an accommodation for later, Fairbnb immediately donates 50% of commissions to relief funds, while also covering the hosts’ transaction costs.
