Grayl turns dirty water to drinking water

Grayl is a water purifier designed specifically for adventure travellers. By filling the bottle with water from sketchy spigots, hotel sinks or water streams in the wild, users can purify water in less than 8 seconds by pressing a filter cartridge through the bottle. The bottle effectively filters out viruses, pathogens, microplastics and more from water sources.

Grayl tackles an important issue as waterborne viruses are found in water all over the developing world and the WHO estimates that nearly 500.000 people die every year as a result of diarrhoeal diseases contracted by drinking contaminated water.

Grayl donates 1% of revenue to environmental preservation and restoration programs around the world and in the summer of 2020, Grayl launched its recycling program that allows owners to send back their used filter cartridges for recycling to ensure that the plastic filters don’t end up in oceans or landfill.
