The best is not enough for Gothenburg Culture Festival
With 1,5 million annual visitors, Gothenburg Culture Festival is one of the biggest of its kind in Scandinavia. Every detail is considered as the festival strives to ensure the highest level of sustainability. The festival is powered from local energy sources, it sets strict environmental requirements for its partners, and all food and drinks sold at the festival are required to be Fairtrade or otherwise ethically labelled.
In terms of social inclusion, the festival works in collaboration with Team Gothenburg to recruit youth volunteers of all backgrounds to work at the festival. Special attention is paid to accommodate people with disabilities as the festival is equipped with platforms for wheelchair users and audio descriptions for the visually impaired. Gothenburg Culture Festival won the Equalisters Prize in 2015 for its efforts towards social inclusion and equality, celebrating its place as a pioneer of sustainability in the event industry.
