Universeum

Universeum is the national science centre of Sweden and a powerful arena for education within the fields of science, technology and sustainable development. The science centre has been open since 2001 and each year, it welcomes around 600,000 visitors – 75,000 of whom are teachers and students – from all over the world.
With exhibitions, labs, shows and other activities, Universeum gives children and adults the insights and capabilities to help make the world more sustainable. Universeum works to save endangered species and habitats by economically supporting reforestation programs in, for example, the Costa Rican rainforest. In addition, the science centre works with zoos to ensure the survival of endangered species through breeding programs, and Universeum also supports the construction of so-called “frog tunnels” that protect endangered species of toads from busy roads.
