Handiplanet wants to make travelling accessible for everyone

Handiplanet is a social network of disabled travellers that rate and review attractions based on their accessibility. In this way, travellers with disabilities can share their experiences to help others better plan their trips. According to Handiplanet, 80% of people with disabilities state that lack of accessibility discourages them from travelling.

Apart from offering ratings and reviews, Handiplanet is also a social media platform where users can chat and create communities. Users can find people who face similar challenges or share the same interests in order to build meaningful relations.

So far, Handiplanet offers reviews on sites mainly in France and in select cities around the world. Restaurants, attractions and other points of interest are given an accessibility score of 1-100% and earn labels depending on their facilities. Labels include “Flat Level Entrance”, “Elevator”, “Disabled Parking Spots” and more.
