Schyst Resande is a Swedish network between The Union, Fair Action, the Swedish Hotel and Restaurant Union, the IOGT-NTO Movement, Real Stars and Union-to-Union focused on environmentally and socially sustainable travel.
Schyst Resande publishes reports, organizes events, hosts campaigns and importantly, educates about the conditions of the tourism industry. The network posts teaching material on its website and hosts on-school and online training focused on sustainable tourism. Furthermore, Schyst Resande holds a yearly competition for roughly 1.500 EUR granted to the high-school class that presents the idea for the most sustainable school field trip.
Common for Schyst Resande work is that it is rooted in the UN SDG’s. In its publications and educational program, the network places special emphasis working conditions, climate and nature, children’s rights, sexual exploitation, healthy consumption, the local economy and access to water.
